Ghost: The Musical - Beef & Boards

"Eddie Egan assumes Swayze’s role as Sam Wheat. He deftly conveys the confusion of his transition from life to death, and his rich voice warms the heart. Egan easily emotes frustration, grief and his undying love for Molly.  Egan’s immediate chemistry with his leading lady gives this tale its power. They are believable as star-crossed lovers whose dedication to each other crosses even to the other side."

"What I found surprising was the ease with which the stars of this cast took on the larger-than-life roles first portrayed by Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg."

"Egan is impressive in his portrayal of the ghostly Sam. He covers all the emotional bases in his arc with sensitivity and, when necessary, good humor.  [Egan and Laxton's] voices blend extremely well on a number of shared tunes."

"From the moment Ashley Marie and Eddie Egan as Maria and Tony see each other across the gym floor at the dance, they instantly connect. Without this spark, the show Would be lost....Egan has the gentle nature of Richard Beymer"

"As the story's doomed insta-lovers Maria and Tony, Marie and Egan, respectively, show off their excellent voices and acting skills with each appearance."

"In the lead roles, Egan and Marie had fine chemistry and made you believe in their ludicrously fast-moving love connection. [Egan] looked the part of the leading man, making a character who is frustratingly idealistic and a bit dense as written seem appealing."

The Last Five Years - Shadowland Theatre

"Both Eddie Egan and Katie Reid have superbly strong voices that can handle the difficult music the composer throws at them. (Brown actually called the task “Olympian.”) This cast manages with ease the highs and the lows of the relationship...You can feel their happiness and rejoice, and experience their despair and suffer along with them as they maneuver easily among the various musical styles of pop, jazz, folk, rock and even Klezmer....Egan and Reid's ability to sustain the music in this show is a tribute to their exceptional talent."

"It is Time that allows two convincing and vocally proficient actors, Eddie Egan and Katie Reid, to forcefully deliver the full range of each character’s emotions, stretching from the titillating tingle of first love to the disheartening thud of a collapsed marriage. The Last Five Years is the most entertaining, thought provoking theatre of the current season, delivering cleverly composed music and lyrics, with skillful presentations, while at the same time pricking the mind with concepts and questioning the potential of Time."

Next to Normal - San Diego Musical Theatre

"San Diego Musical Theatre lives up to it's promise of being "the local way to see Broadway" with their current production of NEXT TO NORMAL.......Eddie Egan is a standout as the son, who is the only one his Mother can turn to with her problems. While he mocks his sister in "Superboy and the Invisible Girl", and enables his Mother to come away with him in "There's a World',  Egan is powerful on stage."

"Next to Normal is incredibly well-sung and -acted by its six-member cast.  It’s raw, heartbreaking, funny and contemporary in the best sense, and San Diego Musical Theatre's staging is as good as you'll see on Broadway..... Eddie Egan, who also starred in the La Mirada production, has a muscular energy and powerful rock tenor voice as Gabe, Diana’s enabling son."

"With clarity and passion, as he moves strikingly in and out of their lives, touching them all is Eddie Egan’s 'Gabe', brother and son who holds the key to his families’ secrets. (“I’m Alive”) His physical attributes, good looks and nimbleness give him the tools to tool around Matt Scarpino’s multi tiered, metal framed industrial looking house in the burbs.....this fine production is not to be missed"

"The raw anguish of this tale is so marvelously conveyed that you’re totally swept up by these stellar singers and their heart-rending predicament......As the Goodman son, Eddie Egan is haunting"

"Kitt’s music is often sung-through, but also contains some memorable pieces (among them Gabe’s angry “I’m Alive” )... all difficult and requiring superb musicianship and excellent training. This cast delivers......  Egan’s 'Gabe' is my favorite – seductive and a little scary, but with a lithe voice and wide range that can’t help but captivate."

"As usual, Flat Rock has a cast to die for: Kim, the Asian innocent to the American cad is totally lovely as given by Diana Huey. Her paramour, the young studly American military dude who fathers her child then returns to marry in America is portrayed by Eddie Egan. These, and other highly capable voices are powerfully amplified and do what they can with Schönberg’s needy score...Puccini would have been proud of the voices who interpreted the lushly orchestrated score."

Next to Normal - La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts

"Eddie Egan showcases an incredible singing voice you've just got to sit up and listen to, particularly in the show's manic anthem 'I'm Alive.' His rather persuasive interplay with his mother is the meaty center to the show's OMG moment that makes the storyline all the more heartbreaking."

Life Could Be A Dream - American Heartland Theatre
